Honoka Orihara bio

Honoka Orihara, whose birth name is Ai Shimomura, was born and raised in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. Her early life was filled with major difficulties, including a troubled family situation, money problems, and frequent abuse, all of which she later described in her 2010 book titled “Kago.” Mainly raised by her mother and grandfather, Honoka grew up in a household with seven other kids. After graduating from elementary school, Honoka got accepted into a high school in another town and began living in a student dormitory. Once she had graduated, Honoka Orihara decided to move to Tokyo and attend a specialized course to become a nurse there. Unfortunately, she ended up getting expelled.

Gifted and Grudging

Losing her scholarship motivated her to find a job, so she started working as an extra in TV shows. One thing led to another, and Honoka Orihara got in touch with the talent agency which was looking for a new singer to join them. Even though she didn’t manage to make the final cut for the singing gig, they wanted her to star in XXX movies, which she eventually began to do. Unlike many other Japanese pornstars I have written about, Honoka Orihara was never enthusiastic about her time in the industry. Having that in mind, along with some hardships she experienced during that period, it’s not surprising that she announced her retirement from the AV industry only a few years after her debut. Since then, she has had a successful career as a mainstream movie actress and published her aforementioned autobiography.
